I wanted to share some great news, now that Watershed has announced this publicly.
I have been selected for an international residency in Israel this July along with Molly Hatch and Marc Luethold. We will work in an art center at Givat Haviva, a kibbutz north of Tel Aviv. We will be there for two weeks for the program co-sponsored and fully funded by Watershed and the Association of Israel Decorative Arts.
I am honored to be taking part in this second year of the program and to work alongside Marc, Molly and Israeli studio artists. Travel and lectures are being planned as well.

"Watershed & AIDA Partnership in Israel"
Watershed is very pleased to share news of developments in a partnership with the Association of Israel's Decorative Arts (AIDA).
First, a little history....
Watershed has been hosting 2-5 ceramics from Israel each year since 2005. These artists are identified and funded by AIDA for this special opportunity at Watershed. During this time many friendships and relationships have formed and grown, as well as professional opportunities and exhibitions.
In 2009 discussion began about creating a residency opportunity in Israel based on the Watershed model, including guest artists from North America - appropriately called AIDAshed.
In July 2010, Watershed and AIDA collaborated to have Christa Assad, Sana Musasama, and Dirk Stachke travel to Israel to participate in a two-week residency hosted at Givat Haviva. More than a dozen Israeli artists participated in this session, and the results were very positive. The rest is history (in the making).
Watershed and AIDA build on the success of the AIDAshed residency by collaborating again in 2012 to bring Marc Leuthold, Nan Smith and Molly Hatch to Israel July 18 - July 30. The studio at Givat Haviva, directed by Avner Singer (a former Watershed resident too!) will again be the host site for lively artist exchanges and studio work.
Watershed and AIDA are proud to be partners in this continued relationship as it represents important growth of the international dialogue in contemporary ceramics.
