Art and Conservation
I just returned from a statewide conference initiated by the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs to focus on art as a vehicle for environmental conservation. I presented my recent sculptures based on environmental impacts to land and water at "Convening Culture - Connecting the Arts with Environmental Conservation". I presented installations, sculptures, and photography based on research conducted at Israel's marine labs, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and based on information gathered from UF scientists. Pictured below is my sculpture "Spill" one of the artworks featured in my conference powerpoint presentation.
